ScanMyEye is an app that gives you the ability to perform simple eye tests at home.
Based on advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning, the app helps diagnose cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disease, and other eye disorders at home.
1. Detect cataracts by taking a short video of your eyes.
A cataract is a clouding of the clear lens of the eye. For people who have cataracts, seeing through cloudy lenses is like looking through a frosty or fogged-up window. Cataracts are the leading cause of diminished vision and blindness in the world. They generally affect individuals above the age of 50 years.
Use the cataract scan module to record a short video of your eye. The video is analysed using advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning to detect the presence of a cataract. The app also suggests qualified ophthalmologists nearby to consult after the scan. Our patent-pending DeepScan technology allows you to perform a more in-depth scan which is chargeable.
2. First Aid for all eye disorders
Use the first aid module to get first aid for any eye disorder. Answer a few questions about your signs and symptoms to get a differential diagnosis. Know what could be wrong with your eyes instantly and what you could do at home right now to alleviate your symptoms. This module is also based on artificial intelligence.
3. Lasik and number reduction surgery information
Use the Lasik module to get in-depth information about lasik and other number reduction surgeries if you wish to get rid of your glasses. Use the in-app eligibility checker to check if Lasik, SMILE, PRK or ICL's are safe for you and how long the surgery would take.
4. Eye tests
Perform simple at-home eye tests like visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, central vision, colour vision, and near vision to screen your eyes for eye disorders. An abnormal contrast sensitivity and colour vision test could be early signs of glaucoma and other optic nerve disorders. An abnormal central vision test could be the earliest sign of retinal disease. Detect them before they do damage to your eye and consult a doctor if they are abnormal.
5. Receive prescriptions and other reports from your doctor through your app and get reminders at the specific time of putting your drops daily. Never lose prescriptions and never forget to put drops in your eye again.
